Yes they are; no BPA, BPS, lead, latex, or phthalates.
2How many times can you reuse the bags?
You can reuse them forever!
3Can you cook in the ModernKitchen bags?
Yes, our bags are safe for use in the microwave, with a sous vide machine, a standard oven, or a pot of boiling water — up to 450F. Please remember to always remove the slider bar and that the max temperature should not exceed 450℉. The exception is for sous vide cooking.
4Can you freeze food in the bags?
Yes our bags can handle the freezer. If you're freezing a liquid, please make sure you don't fill over the fill line on the bag, as some liquids may expand in the freezer. This will help avoid a huge mess :)

Yes we encourage you to wash the bags in the dishwasher upside down, with the slider bars vertical in the utensil tray.

9What is the best way to label your bags?
The best way to label the bags is to write on them directly with a dry erase marker. The backside of the bags (the side without the measurements) is dedicated for this purpose.
10How do you work the slider bars?
The slider bars will feel tighter during their very first use, which is totally normal. They slide in and out from one side only, the one with the arrow on the bag. To make this process easier on your first use, you can slide the sealer bars on and off a couple times in soapy water. After a bit of practice, you'll be an expert and will be teaching your friends and family :) Practicing while the bag is upright also helps align the grooves in which the slider bar moves across. This process becomes significantly easier after the bar has went trough the grooves a few times.
